Empowering Change: Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

On Feb. 15, Student Diversity and Inclusion Programs is hosting a Civil Rights pop-up on the first floor of the Martin Center, along with campus partners. This event was originally scheduled for Jan. 16 but was postponed due to inclement weather. West Library will be displaying a curated collection of books featuring MLK Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. These books will be available for the campus community to check out from the library. MOVE Texas will be on-site to engage in discussions about the lasting impact of the Civil Rights movements throughout the years and assisting with voter registration. Attendees can also receive commemorative buttons from Student Diversity and Inclusion Programs while contributing their thoughts on the meaning of the Civil Rights Movement in a collaborative space.
